The DBM Women Entrepreneur Loan is one of the cheapest sources of business finance in Mauritius, set aside specifically for women-owned businesses. It is a way to fund equipment, set-up costs or a growth project without taking on an expensive commercial loan.
The terms are very favourable. The rate is just 0.5% per year, with DBM financing up to 90% of your project cost, repayable over up to 7 years including a moratorium. On the ceiling, the Budget wording says Rs 500,000 but DBM's own page now shows up to Rs 1,000,000, likely a raised cap, so confirm the figure with DBM.
To qualify the business needs to be women-owned. As with any loan, you will need to show the project makes sense and that the business can repay.
